How did I lose 25 pounds in 21 days?

I had the mistaken belief that I couldn't lose weight because I was over 60.
NOT TRUE.
Funny what we tell ourselves, isn't it?
I began opening myself up to possibilities that anything is possible, even for me.
Because of the Spiritual Journey I have been on for many years, I felt it was time to put into action what I knew in theory.
Since 1996 I have been doing hypnosis; It was time to use it on myself. I was 210 pounds and in about 4 months I dropped 30 pounds. It wasn't difficult, I wasn't feeling deprived. I ate sensibly. Let deserts go and anything white too, except yogart...drank lots of water and walked 30 minutes or more every day.
I used my own hypnosis tape to change my self talk and re affirmed my desires for me as I walked in meditational state .
It felt so good to be loose and free in my clothes and to be able to shop and look good in things.
That was in 2003.
Then life happened when I wasn't looking, I became careless, packed it all back on slowly just short of my previous weight .
It's not a pretty picture, I am now over 70 and I became anxious to try something different for my health's sake,never mind the weight, I was addicted to sweets, night time eating and low energy, weak nails and a lack of glow to my skin.
I saw the film called, The Secret and this change my life measurably, even though the concepts are no secret and nothing new for me, this film gave it a whole new perspective and new meaning and most of all, inspiration.
I made a vision board and set it behind my computer.
There is a red spiral on it and writing on the rim of the spirals, that says, 'You are getting thinner,' "You are getting thinner, round and round into a funnel.
I looked at it daily and said it to myself over and over. Somehow the message got to my subconscious mind and it began to plan for a way so this could happen.
I am no different than thousands of you, done every diet know to man. And like many of you, procrastination is a part of me...I would watch people on TV doing aroebics and say, " wow, that looks like a great way to get trim" and then continue to sit on my duff.
Numerous times I had good intentions to do something positive on the weight issue, but even my grandson's wedding in 2005 wasn't insentive enough, nor were two fabulous trips in the beginning of 2007, one a cruise and the other to Hawaii.
Then it happened, I saw Roni DeLuz, a nurse and Natupathic Doctor, on Larry King CNN, who lost 21 pounds in 21 days safely. I bought her book with the same name, "21 pounds in 21 days" from Amazon.com and devoured all 200 pages in one day.
It isn't a diet, it's a detox....and the plan made a tremendous lot of sense.
With my previous training in holistic health, much of what I read was familiar territory.
Before I gave it another thought, I started the detox program the same day as I read the book .
The way people are right now, in a world of fast foods and lack of exercise, everyone could use a detox at least once in their life.
However, I realize this isn't for everyone, only those who are serious about getting well, fit, and spiritually rejuvenated need apply.
My strategy:
*KEEP A JOURNAL
*PREPARE LOTS OF PUREED VEGGIES AHEAD AND FREEZE PART FOR FUTURE.
*WEIGH MYSELF WHEN I START AND THEN AGAIN HALF WAY.
*KEEP FOCUSSED ON THE NOW MOMENT, NOT ON HOW FAR YOU NEED TO GO.
*MAKE A LIST OF ALL THAT IS NEGATIVE IN YOUR BODY THAT A DETOX WILL HELP.
*HAVE LOTS OF BOTTLED WATER..( LEMON AND LIQUID CHLOROPHYLL ADDED.)
*HAVE THE VEGGIE SOUP AVAILABLE FOR A MOMENT OF WEAKNESS.
YOU CAN HAVE AS MUCH AS YOU WANT AT ANY TIME.
*BUY GREEN POWDER FOR MORNING SMOOTHY ( CONTAINS VIT. AND MIN. AND *ESSENTIAL FATTY ACIDS ETC.)
HAVE UNSWEETENED BLUEBERRY OR CHERRY JUICE FOR A DRINK IN MID AFTERNOON.>p? I ADDED ALOE VERA JUICE TO THIS TOO.
*DRINK LOTS OF NO CAFFIENE HERBAL TEA..ESPECIALLY A SLIMMING TEA IN THE EVENING and green tea.
*PREPARE FOR SPECIAL EVENTS BY BRINGING YOUR OWN DRINK AND A CONTAINER OF PUREED VEGGIES IF POSSIBLE. OR JUST HAVE AN HERBAL TEA.
IMPORTANT: PREPARE MENUES FOR AFTER DETOX. ON DAY 22 KNOW WHAT YOU WILL ADAPT AS A NEW EATING LIFE STYLE. Make sure it consists of more natural food than man made. Retrain yourself to eat thoughtfully and slowly and keep up with daily exercise. Enjoy your food, eat slowly and with conscious attention!
THESE ARE THE VEGGIES I USED FOR THE 21 DAYS:
YAMS, BROCCOLI, BEETS, CARROTS, SPINACH, CABBAGE, ONIONS, GARLIC, CAULIFLOUR, CELERY, GINGER,
You can use others, like cucumber, cilantro, tomatoes, turnip,kale, parsnips, and swiss chard.
I don't happen to have a juicer, but it is great to use a juicer and drink the juices as much as possible. this gives you the most potency of nutients possible.
I cooked all my veggies in a huge soup pot and then some I put through
a food processor or some in a blender. However there is an easier way below.
It is suggested that everything be pureed and allow no chewing for the full 21 days.
I found that it was too messy to put foods through the food processor, so reverted to using a potato masher instead and mashed everything as fine as possible.
I would very the tastes a bit by cooking only certain verggies together and putting it into plastic containers then popping them into the freezer.
With beets and spinach, I cooked them each separately and when I was ready to eat I would add them into whatever I was eating that day in the amounts I wanted.
If this all sounds to be too much trouble, it's not all that bad, I used an evening or a couple of hours once a week to prepared all my veggies for freezing...It was sort of fun to do; and of course keep in front of you what the results of your efforts will reward you with, pounds lost.
TIPS:
Spinach needs a lot of washing to free it of sand so rinse repeatedly before cooking and it's best to peel the beets before cooking.
plan ahead...make your shopping day be your preperation day if possible.
THE DETOX DIET IN A NUTSHELL
This detox diet is simple: Pureed veggies, lots of veggie juices, veggie soup, herbal tea and water.
A SMOOTY OF WATER AND NUTRIENT,GREEN POWDER EVERY AM
No other foods permitted, not even fruit. Although in mid afternoon I did allow myself a cup of unsweetened blueberry or cherry juice. (consume at a different time than you do any veggies.)
VEGGIE SOUP ALLOWED ANYTIME.
MY DISCOVERIES BEING ON THE DETOX DIET :
I was pleasantly surprised at how easily I took to doing this.
My body didn't mind much what I put into it, as long as it was nutritious.
I was always satisfied after eating my mash and never hungry.
I didn't have any cravings.
What other people were eating or what appeared on TV ads didn't affect me.
I am a sugar freak so I was amazed when I didn't miss sugar, not even caffiene.
warning: THIS MAY NEVER BE YOUR EXPERIENCE BUT IT WAS MINE... On about Day 6 I started going through a healing crisis..I experienced cold symptoms and I sounded much worse than I felt. NOTE: A healing crisis is a state the body goes through to bring it back into balance, so if you have experienced a lot of illness and trauma in your life, if it was a neck pain, you may re-experience these, if it was a flu or bad cold you may experience these and it proceeds as if filling up a deep dark hole with fresh new dirt.
A healing crisis never lasts very long thankfully and you can be sure you are getting rid of a lot of toxic junk from your body.
Mine began with tiredness, a feeling of lethargy. I developed a pain in my right ankle that lasted 2 days. ( an event I had forgotten about)
I started feeling my throat getting raw and a cough started developing. A lot of Phlegm began expelling.
On day 7 I was in a full fledge healing crisis and feeling pretty rotten. I rested most of the day and slept a lot.
On day 8 I felt myself coming out of the crisis and on day 13 was pretty much over it.
I missed salt mostly, my taste buds got used to it and I was tasting the true taste of the veggies. On the 10th day, I used
MRS Dash to enhance the taste. It has no salt and has Cayenne pepper,garlic and ginger all of which is so beneficial for the digestive track.
I often took a late evening cup of herbal tea with cassia in it, as a laxitive, especially during the last week.
I noted that as things expelled, my breath must have been less than pleasant. Chlorophyll in my water helps that, as well as a bit of peppermint essential oil on the tip of the tongue.
It is suggested that you do a colonic or enema on yourself at least 2 times in the next 21 days.
(It's isn't as yucky as it sounds. It's actually easy to do and makes you feel really good afterwards too. )
You will need to purchase an enema bag kit at the drug store. It has a hose coming out the bottom and has a place to hang it up on a towel bar on the top. You fill the bag with luke warm water, hang it on a towel bar in the bathroom....lie down on your right side put a towel under you. Have some vaseline to put on the nausal of the hose.
Insert the nasal into your rectum, and release the holder around the nausel, the water will begin to go into your intestine. Try to hold in inside as long as possible...then when the I gotta go feeling comes go sit on the toilet and let er go. It is suggested that adding a bit of cold coffee is really helpful and has health benefits, especially if there is a disease present..
MY RESULTS:
My weight at half way was down by 13 lbs. .....total of 18 lbs on day 21
My skin is cleared, and softer, fresher looking.
My knees aren't bothering me.
My ankles stopped swelling
My nails are harder.
My shadows under my eyes are almost gone..and the puffiness of my face is too.
My hair is shiney and I think there is some new stubble growth too.
I seem to have a glow that wasn't there before...and I feel totally balanced and terrific.
My challenge: Remind myself not to look at the obese and the sickly around me,and judge that they too need this.
Even though it's true, everyone would benefit...
They are wonderful just the way they are and this needs to be their deep desire and choice. (It took me long enough to get the message.)

SPIT IT OUT. NEVER SWALLOW, IT IS POISONOUS.
BRUSH TEETH AND WHOLE MOUTH WELL.
